Fattoria “I Sassoli” is an organic farm covering approximately 100 hectares, located near Scandicci, about 15 km from Florence city center.
Fattoria “I Sassoli” is situated in San Vincenzo a Torri village, in Marciola no. 9 street, where the farm headquarter is also located. It is a typical Chianti estate set on the hills of Roveta, a place where high-quality wine is produced, with production processes carried out with great care and attention.
The presence of an ancient cellar, built centuries ago in the underground levels of the farm, allows for excellent aging and maturation of the wine produced.
The land is predominantly hilly, characterized by gentle slopes, with about 10% flat land located in the valley bottoms.
Being situated on the right side of the Pesa River valley, the exposure is mainly west–southwest, which means the land is bathed in sunlight from morning until sunset.
The geological nature of the soils is characterized by the degradation of Pliocene and Pleistocene geological formations, resulting in medium-textured soils that tend to be clayey and rich in skeletal material, making them suitable for the cultivation of vines and olive trees.
On the farm’s land, durum wheat has been produced for many years. In keeping with our philosophy, in recent years we have decided to return to the cultivation of “ancient grains” for the production of pasta and flour. We oversee the entire production process, from seed to finished product, all at zero kilometers.
